How do I care for a Düki?
  • Always wash the duki 3 or 4 times before you use it the first time. This increases the absorbency of the fabric.
  • Do not use fabric softener as it coats the fabric in wax, reducing its absorbency.
  • Do not use any nappy cream as it coats the fabric,  reducing its absorbency.
Washing instructions for a Düki:
  • Remove any poo and flush down the toilet before washing.
  • Store dirty nappies in a bucket with a lid, until ready to wash.
  • Wash at your normal temperature (30°C- 60°C). Line dry or tumble dry on low heat.
  • Do not use bleach or fabric softeners as it will reduce life expectancy and effectiveness of the nappy.
  • Do not iron or dry clean.
  • Do not soak covers in any nappy solutions such as Steri-nappy as it deteriorates the elastic. However inserts can be soaked.

 

  
 

Softener
White spirit vinegar makes a great eco-friendly, economical softener. Just add about a 1/4 of a cup (125ml) straight into your wash or into your softener dispenser. It leaves no smell and helps to whiten your inserts. You can even add about 20 drops of Tea Tree oil or Lavender oil with the vinegar to make it smell lovely.
